Final Exam
Hi, I need this work to be completed in the next 4 days and please follow the instructions and also use the primary resources that i sent. You can also use outside resources but focus more on the primary ones. Thank you.
1. Write the introduction, in which you present the background information of the author and the source to be discussed and your thesis statement (the argument that you will try to prove).
2. Write two body paragraphs, in which you present supporting evidence from the primary sources (these maybe direct or indirect quotes from the texts); you may also use secondary sources that you find during your research.
3. Write the conclusion, in which you recap your main thesis, the main points of you argumentation, and an overall conclusion statement. This statement should include the ways in which the chosen text has made you think about your own sense of identity/worldview.
Question: What are some of the ways in which Puerto Ricans have experienced colonialism and racism in the diaspora (US) and in the island? Please discuss some of the general historic and social conditions that have set the stage for their displacement, and refer to some of the resistance tactics that have been deployed over time to fight against the policies and institutions that openly or overtly discriminate against them. Be sure to cite concrete examples from at least two of the following resources: Decade of Fire, Johanna FernaÌndez’ The Young Lords A Radical History, Takeover, Aftershocks of Disaster, Naomi Klein’s The Battle for Paradise.
