Evidence based practice is important for all nurses, and according to our Book (Nursing Research, 6) we as nurses will have the task to expand our comfort zone by presenting creative methods to new and old health predicaments that people are or will be facing in the future, as well as designing new programs that make a difference in the wellbeing of our patients. How will we face these challenges? The answer is, through evidence-based practice also known as (EBP) which is an approach to healthcare that uses the most modern research accessible in order to better the health and safety of patients while reducing the monetary prices and disparities in health outcomes, which should be very important to you us as nurses.  As an example of what positive outcomes can come through evidence-based practices, research shows that nurses have improved the care they deliver to patients. For example, an article by Arkansas State university shows that through the use evidence-based practice in nursing, nurses have been able to give oxygen to patients with COPD, drawing on evidence to understand how to properly give oxygen to patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
