Reading Comprehension

Before you can teach reading comprehension strategies(or anything for that matter), you must have a clear and deep understanding of the topic, which always starts with what you know about yourself in that area. After reading and engaging with information on cognitive strategies that support reading comprehension skills, please take a few minutes to reflect on how you (as a reader) use comprehension strategies as your read. In your reflection and response, ask yourself:

Am I aware that I am using cognitive strategies
Which cognitive strategies do I use most often?
Am I aware that I am using metacognitive strategies?
Am I a strategic reader?
How does my strategy use affect my comprehension?

Please make sure that you use and cite the text/reading materials in your reflection to demonstrate the application of information covered. (Appx 250 words)
