REPLY1 Nursing education is primarily related with how health care is delivered by health care professionals and is highly related with positive patient outcomes. Nurses need to have advanced education to meet the demands required in today’s healthcare world. There is a strong correlation between nursing education and positive patient outcomes has been favorable among the nursing community and interdisciplinary teams in the healthcare field. The baseline standard for a nursing RN license is an ADN, followed by the Bachelor’s Degree of Science for Nursing. Higher education should be obtained to help provide the best continuum of providing the best care available for patients. For example, the next degree of higher degree after the bachelors is the advanced practice registered nurse, which is a graduate level training. Some examples of roles found with these types of degrees are nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetist, etc. Unfortunately, research has suggested that nurses are not being fully utilized to the top of their license or to the full extent of their education and skills. Nurses need to change the healthcare field to establish nurses engagement with the training aligned with their scope of practice. It still remains that improved levels of education and training have resulted in better patient outcomes. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) helps collaborate with the nursing community to assist with creating highly qualified nurses with education enhancements for both clinical competency and care delivery. The current research has linked patient safety outcomes with advanced education nurses because of the quality of patient care from level of the educated nursing workforce. Nurses receiving a baccalaureate and graduate degree levels has shown overall positive outcomes for healthcare systems. Research has linked higher education of nurses with lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors, and overall positive outcomes. The research is agreeable, because the advanced education helps with everyday healthcare decisions. Personally, the BSN program has enhanced my career by helping me understand my potential as a nurse and get the confidence needed to be a voice in the hospital setting in interdisciplinary teams. For instance the findings are: “hospitals with an increased % of RNs with baccalaureate or higher degrees had lower congestive heart failure mortality, decubitus ulcers, failure to rescue, and postoperative deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism and shorter length of stay,” (AACN, 2019)They demonstrate better competency in nursing practice, communication, leadership, integrity and evaluation regarding research,” (AACN, 2019). “The researchers predicted that each additional patient in a hospital nurse’s workload increased the likelihood of a patient dying within 30 days of admission by 7% (NIH, 2014).” A better educated nurse workforce was associated with fewer deaths. For every 10% increase in nurses with bachelor’s degrees, there was a fall in the possibility of patient death by 7%”, (NIH, 2014). I personally agree that education can better results as well as decrease mortality and I comprehend why this was part of the desires on healthcare changes. I agree that you have to get a degree such as a BSN to get better training. O n the other side nurses with many years of practical wisdom have increased critical thinking as well as the capacity to diminish mortality rates. Such nurses are consistently in front of or in sync with the physicians and able to do whatever is required for the patient. they already has an idea of what is coming next for the patient, so education is needed but it can come in numerous forms, I have learned various things in the BSN program that have made me a well-rounded nurse and I have been able to implement little changes in the clinic along the way. We must stay aware of new advances in innovation and the conveyance of care so as to give the best practice and care we can. I am realizing the understanding the fundamental benefit of proceeding with education and believe we need to be advocate for our co-workers also to inspire them proceed on an educational journey. I desire to continue into an MSN program as soon as possible. Up to date information and practical skill in health care may reduce the incidents of admissions to hospitals. With this global healthcare crisis, we are confronting, concentrating on prevention right now is really worth a pound of cure.
