“Medical Care and Nursing Roles in Long-Term Care” Please respond to the follow

“Medical Care and Nursing Roles in Long-Term Care”  Please respond to the following:
•Per the text, when patients cannot receive needed medical care, nursing services, or rehabilitation therapies in a community-based setting, they are typically admitted to a long-term care facility, where medical care is traditionally delivered by physicians and / or practitioners with advanced qualifications. All nursing services in long-term care facilities are delivered by a nursing staff which is headed by a Director of Nursing (DON). Compare and contrast the roles of the medical director and the DON. Select the role which has the overall greater impact on patient care. Provide a rationale for your response.
•Imagine that you are responsible for staffing a long-term care facility with sixty (60) full-time residents. Propose your strategy of selecting the key staff members, and specify their main roles and responsibilities. Support your selections

Telenursing and Telemedicine

Telenursing and Telemedicine
The discussion assignment provides a forum for discussing relevant topics for this week on the basis of the course competencies covered.By the due date assigned, post a response to the discussion topic below, using information from the lectures, reading assignments, library resources, and Internet resources. All responses should be posted to the Discussion Area.To support your work, use your course and textbook readings and also use the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in the APA format.
Task:Telenursing and telemedicine will only be successful if patients engage in the program. You have been asked by your manager to pilot a program aimed at improving transitions of care using the new telemedicine system recently implemented at your hospital. What are some of the ways that you can encourage both patient and provider engagement to ensure the pilot program success?
Citations should conform to APA guidelines. You may use this APA Citation Helper as a convenient reference for properly citing resources or connect to the APA style website through the APA icon below.
By the due date assigned, comment on at least two of your peers’ responses. You can ask questions or respond generally to the overall experience. Be objective, clear, and concise. Always use constructive language, even in criticism, to work toward the goal of positive progress. All comments should be posted to the Discussion Area.

How does knowledge of the foundations and history of nursing provide a context

How does knowledge of the foundations and history of nursing provide a context in which to understand current practice? Identify at least three trends in nursing practice from the “Nursing Timeline of Historical Events” media piece. How have these trends influenced your perspective of nursing practice?

Review your list of possible actions. What are the absolutely necessary steps that are most likely to be effective in achieving your MAP goal? Bold these Key Action Steps. Also, determine which possible action items can be dropped from your list without significant consequences to the outcome; strike through these actions. (10% of your grade for this assignment)

Management Action Plan (MAP)

This assignment is due in Unit VIII. Please include documentation of all seven steps in your submission of your MAP assignment.

I.          Clarify the problem or Opportunity For Improvement (OFI)
Clearly describe the problem or OFI that you have selected for your MAP. Why is it important to resolve this problem right now? What are the consequences of not resolving this problem right now? (10% of your grade for this assignment)
II.        Clarify your Measureable Goal
Clearly describe the desired outcome from your MAP implementation. What are you trying to accomplish? How will successful MAP implementation be measured and assessed? What realistic constraints do you have as you begin creation of your plan? Consider limits on time, money, and other resources that are specific to your MAP. (10% of your grade for this assignment)
III.       Prepare a List of Possible Actions
Consider possible root causes of the OFI. Why do you believe the problem exists? Brainstorm and present a list of all possible actions that you may need to take in order to achieve your MAP goal. At this stage, focus on generating as many different options and ideas as possible. It is likely that not all of your ideas will make it into you final MAP. Write down your ideas just as they come to your mind, trying not to judge or analyze them at this stage. (10% of your grade for this assignment)
In your brainstorming, be sure to consider ideas involving:
Leadership governance clinical performance
·         Physicians
·         Nurses
·         Clinical Support services
·         Knowledge management
·         Human resources
·         Financial management
·         Internal consulting
·         Marketing
*It is understood that some of these areas may not apply to your particular MAP, but all areas should at least be considered in this process.

IV.       Analyze and Prioritize Key Action Steps
V.        Organize your Key Action Steps into a Management Action Plan
Decide on the sequencing of your Key Action Steps. Start by reviewing your bolded Key Action Steps. For each Key Action Step, what other steps must be completed before that specific action can be taken? Rearrange your Key Action Steps into a sequence of ordered activity. Then, look at your plan once again. Are there any ways to simplify the plan further before presenting it? (40% of your grade for this assignment)
VI.       Accountability
For each Key Action Step, assign a responsible party or group within your hypothetical or actual organization (by position, department, or team name, not by individual name), and assign a suspense date by which the Key Action Step must be completed. Then, based upon all of your Key Action Steps and their suspense dates, provide a realistic completion date for the entire MAP. (10% of your grade for this assignment)
VII.     Measurement and Monitoring

Explain in detail how you will measure the success of your MAP following implementation and how you will monitor ongoing performance to prevent regression and loss of the positive change that has taken place. (10% of your grade for this assignment)

Differences between visual backgrounds and predator visual systems on detection of

Information is provided for you below that will help you construct an answer for your interpretation of the figures on page 2-3.
Background: Dendrobates pumilo is a poison dart frog with a distributional range from Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. The bright colors from the skin of these frogs are considered to be a warning sign of toxicity to predators. Although D. pumilo is one species, there are 10 color polymorphic populations within this range. The warning signs as displayed on D. pumilo are favored by natural selection in terms of predator avoidance.
Purpose of the study (what scientists wanted to understand):

  1. 1)  How visual conspicuousness and toxicity is correlated.
  2. 2)  Differences between visual backgrounds and predator visual systems on detection of D.
    pumilo.

Glossary:
Dorsal: upper side or back
Ventral: underside

Visual background: Poison dart frogs live on different natural substrates; live dead plant parts, so this would bring about different visual backgrounds.
Visual systems: In this study they are referring to how predators “view” D. pumilo. Remember, not all predators will see their prey the same way.
Color polymorphisms: alternative phenotypes, and in this case alternative phenotypes of frog skin color.

toxicity scores with standard errors. Different letters above the bars indicate statistically significant differences; numbers are population numbers referred to in C and in subsequent figures. Allobates talamancae (a closely related Dendrobatid frog) and saline solution served as toxicity measure controls. B, Gray bars indicate the overall brightness of dorsal coloration (total reflectance flux, SR, in arbitrary units) for the 11 frog taxa. C, The inset gives the correlation between toxicity and dorsal brightness for the 10 D. pumilio populations. Numbers refer to the population labels in A.

Figure 3. Illustration of the perceptual differences between potential predator taxa in species-specific color space. Plots show the estimated brightness and color contrast generated by the dorsal coloration of individuals from three Dendrobates pumilio populations (Solarte [orange], Aguacate [blue], and Pastores [green]), viewed against a Heliconia background, in the visual systems of birds, crabs, and diurnal snakes. Each dot represents reflectance spectra measured from an individual frog. The relative conspicuousness of the different frog morphs differs by viewer. For example, while crabs tend to perceive greater color contrast (DS) for blue frogs compared to green frogs, the difference is reversed for the snake visual system and negligible in the bird visual system.
Questions:
1. 2. 3.
4.
What type of control was used in this study? Why do you think they used this control? Intrepret Figures 2 and 3. What were the results from each figure.
Is visual conspicuousness and toxicity is correlated? Give examples from Figures 1-3 to support your answer.
Were there differences between visual backgrounds and predator visual systems on detection of D. pumilo? Give examples from the figures to support your answer.

general concept of innovation and opportunity in response to selective challenges in life and how this can greatly increase biodiversity over time.

Discussion Question 1
Select one species of organism that is interesting to you (try to pick something different from your classmates’ choices—you only have about two million to choose from). Show the hierarchy of classification for the organism you choose from Domain through to binomial name (genus and species). Be sure to write the names in correct format and to spell correctly.

What are the nearest relatives of your chosen species? How do the levels of classification for your species trace the major evolutionary steps the ancestors of your species took over time? Be prepared to discuss similarities and differences in the evolution of diversity in the examples chosen by your classmates.

I want to do this on a Horse. Basic information. Does not need to be an essay just a paragraph or two, with reference in APA format.

Discussion Question 2

Over the long period of time that life has existed on Earth, there have been a number of important or significant innovations including (but not limited to) endosymbiosis to create mitochondria and chloroplasts; multicellularity; adaptation to land by plants and animals; development of exoskeletons in arthropods, shells in molluscs, and notochords followed by vertebral columns in chordates and vertebrates; and bipedalism in the ancestry of humans. All of these had to come about by natural selection in response to changing environmental forces.
Pick one of these significant innovations and describe:

  1. How the innovation appears to have happened
  2. What environmental challenges were met and overcome by this innovation, and
  3. What opportunities were opened for the organism that made this innovation.

Be prepared to discuss the general concept of innovation and opportunity in response to selective challenges in life and how this can greatly increase biodiversity over time.

This does not need to be an essay. Just a paragraph or two with reference.
