Personal non-academic side of drug use

Many cultures bud diverse personal views about drug use and abuse. For a long time awareness has been created about the contact, use, addiction and the severe effects of using drugs. However, issues arise from ideas about drug use. One of the conflicting issues has been whether some of the prohibited drugs can be legalized. Another contested issue about drug is whether its use in sports can be justified, and its long time implication on youths, who have largely idolized some of the athletes. From the film “Heroin: Cape cod USA”, one of the factors that influence the rise in heroin use among young people is the fact that adults use drugs. Adolescents often disregard the fact that the implication of drug abuse is not the same in young people as they are in adult.

            Identity is a strong part of the humanity system. Continued use of heroin erodes personal identity. In the documentary film “Heroin: Cape cod USA”, several adolescents trace their beginning of heroin use to depression, loneliness and careless parentage. Many confess being lured by friends and their close circle at the beginning.
