Please reply to this thread with a definition of Standard of prac

Please reply to this thread with a definition of Standard of practice (in your own words) and discuss how it differs from Scope of practice.  Include any one difference, from general meaning to who creates them, to legalities etc. No references or citations are required, (Unless you are quoting) and a correct reply will net you one substantial post for the week.  Look up the definition of each if you do not know the difference.
