Pick one articles on current social policy issues of your choice that are relevant to social work/social welfare (MUST BE CANADIAN BASED). These may be newspaper articles, magazine articles or discussion papers, from any source that reflects a current perspective from a legitimate public constituency (eg, magazines, newspapers: Globe and Mail, National Post , Edmonton Journal, Alberta Views, and/or any Aboriginal publications or ethno-cultural publications/sources.

Using what you have read and learned in the course, and from class material that we have discussed, please answer/discuss the following questions/points:

1.    Discuss the ideology that the social policy in your article is supporting or not supporting.

2.    Where does the writer seems to have located him/herself on the continuum from Left to Right politically?

3.    Identify any popular myths that appear to surround the issue that you are addressing.

4.    What do you think are the future implications of this policy for service users and society in general?
